π WORLD FOOD DAY 2025: BOXES OF HOPE PROJECT
π
Date: Saturday, August 16th, 2025
π Venue: Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
π― Theme: Empowering Families. Restoring Hope. Building Healthier Futures.
This World Food Day, TGNC (Nutrition Professionals Network Initiative LTD/GTE) is taking our commitment to community health and food security a step further with the Boxes of Hope Project.
On August 16th, 2025, we will gather women and mothers with children from underserved communities in Ibadan to not only receive food boxes but also gain practical knowledge, health checks, and resources that will empower their families for lasting change.
This year, we are doing more than just giving food β we are launching the TGNC Food Bank, a long-term initiative to tackle hunger and malnutrition with intentionality, education, and partnerships.
π WHAT TO EXPECT:
π Food Boxes Packed with Love:
Each box is curated by our team of nutrition professionals, featuring healthy staples and minimally processed foods to nourish families, support childrenβs growth, and reduce the risk of diet-related illnesses.
π Free Health Checks & Assessments:
Participants will receive BMI, blood pressure, and basic wellness checks to raise awareness and promote preventive healthcare.
π Nutrition Education Sessions:
We believe that lasting change starts with knowledge. Our professionals will lead interactive talks and demonstrations to help families make better nutrition choices on any budget.
π The TGNC Food Bank Launch:
This project marks the official launch of The TGNC Food Bank β a platform to continuously collect and distribute food items to families in need while promoting healthy eating and food security.
π Partnership in Action:
We are proud to collaborate with the Large Heart Foundation, Universities Outreach Initiative (UOI) and other partners to bring this project to life. Together, weβre creating a system that does more than feed people β we are empowering them to thrive.
π WHY THIS MATTERS:
In Nigeria, millions of women and children are at risk of malnutrition and diet-related diseases due to poverty and a lack of nutrition education. The Boxes of Hope Project bridges that gap by combining relief with education, offering not just food but tools for long-term wellness.
We believe that healthy mothers raise healthy children, and healthy families build stronger communities.
π GET INVOLVED:
We are actively seeking:
Donations (cash or in-kind food contributions)
Corporate sponsorships for visibility and social impact
Volunteers to support logistics and execution
Partnerships with brands, NGOs, and community-focused organisations
